What are the reasons that give rise to security threats such as terrorism and mass migration? Prof. Vladimir Kozin (Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Military-Political Studies Center) will outline key issues relating to countering terrorism at national, regional and international levels from the perspective of security of international community. The focus will be on fighting terrorism in the regions of the Middle East and the Mediterranean, with analysis of the roots and tactics of terrorism and approaches to counterterrorism. The seminar will also cover state terrorism and nuclear terrorism. Possible links between terrorism and migration will also be investigated as both may be spurred by similar economic, political and caused-by-war reasons.

The presentation will be followed by an open discussion.  Prof. Vladimir Kozin has been specializing on this area for 40 years. He has published 12 monographs and nearly 500 articles.
